Builders of London

What is this

Sometimes it’s dinner or a talk or poker or the driving range or a hackathon or golfwith good people or a founder you've heard of or people building the same thing or someone three years ahead of you or a very early startup or someone from a very large one.

Fun things for people building interesting things. London, mostly.

Get invited

about a minute, I promise

I host things for engineers, founders and other people worth knowing around London.

Some are small dinners. Some are talks. Some involve golf clubs or poker chips. Some seemed like a better idea at the time.

If I think you’d enjoy something, or there’s someone there you should meet, I’ll send you an invite. That last part is the whole point.

It’s not a community, a newsletter or a members’ club. It’s a list of people I think are worth putting in a room together.

London. Engineer, former founder.

I started having people round for dinner because London is better with a decent table in it. Then there were talks, then a driving range, then somebody made caps.

I run all of it myself. That’s why the invite comes from me and not from a mailing list, and why I ask you a few questions instead of none.

You don’t need to know anyone already. That’s rather the point of a table.

A forwarded WhatsApp message from TJ Mitchell reading: That man can organize an event, it was very fun.

What usually happens

roughly once a month

Dinners
Small enough that you actually talk to everyone. Usually a chef.
Nights out
One was a driving range in Greenwich. Caps were involved.
Talks
Someone who knows something. Then everyone arguing about it.
Poker
Low stakes. Unreasonable confidence.
Hackathons
Occasionally. Bring a laptop and low expectations.
Whatever's next
Open to suggestions, and easily talked into things.

No newsletter. Mostly because I don’t have one.
